Finding Peace: Seeking God’s Kingdom First

Bible Verse

Matthew 6:33-34

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Study

Seeking First His Kingdom:
When we prioritize God’s kingdom and His righteousness, we align our hearts with His purpose. This means instilling values of love, compassion, and faith in our children and loved ones. In times of turmoil, teaching them to seek God’s will can provide them with a sturdy foundation that transcends external chaos. As a teacher, I know how much you can learn from teaching others. I certainly do not “know it all” and having the continual reminder that I am a guide for my family, helps me to stay on the correct path myself. Remember though mama, you are not walking down that path blindly, the Holy Spirit is right there guiding your every step, and whenever your misstep, God is there to redirect. Just keep your eyes on Jesus!

Trusting God with Tomorrow:
The admonition not to worry about tomorrow resonates deeply in today’s context. We may feel a constant tug of anxiety about what lies ahead for our families. Yet, Jesus encourages us to focus on the present. With the natural disasters, wars, troubling news, and so much more, you may find yourself worrying about things that are outside of your control. You may also find yourself worrying about smaller things like choices for yourself and family in day-to-day life. Each day offers its challenges, but it also presents opportunities for grace and growth. By focusing on today and trusting God for the future, we can navigate life’s uncertainties with a more peaceful heart.

Building Resilience:
In cultivating resilience, we teach our children to trust in God’s provision and care. Sharing stories of faith, prayer, and community can help them develop a strong spiritual foundation. Encourage them to see God at work in the world, even amid chaos. And remember to be thankful to God for each new day!

Devotional

In a world filled with uncertainty and various crises, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by fear, especially when raising children and a family. The pressures of providing a secure future can feel monumental. However, Matthew 6:33-34 offers us a powerful reminder and encouragement.

Take a moment this week to reflect on how you can seek God’s kingdom in your daily life. Consider how you can model trust and resilience for your children, even in challenging times. You might also explore community resources—like church groups or support networks—to build a sense of connection and shared faith during these uncertain days.

Prayer

Dear God,

Thank You for Your promises and for being our refuge in times of trouble. As we navigate these uncertain times, help us to seek Your kingdom first in our lives. Teach us to trust in Your provision and to raise our children with faith and hope.

Lord, grant us the wisdom to instill in them the values of love, kindness, and courage, even when the world feels daunting. Help us to demonstrate that our security is not found in our circumstances, but in You.

May we have the strength to face each day without fear, knowing that You hold tomorrow in Your hands. Guide our hearts and minds and let Your peace guard us as we walk through this life.

In Jesus’ name, we pray,
Amen.

Hello everyone,
I wanted to take a moment to share a bit about the Bible verse studies, devotionals, and prayers that I put together. While I strive to offer meaningful insights and reflections, it’s important to clarify that I am not a trained or licensed biblical professional. My goal is not to provide expert theological advice but to share my personal knowledge, beliefs, and experiences as I read and reflect on the Holy Bible.
The insights I offer come from my own understanding and spiritual journey. I approach these reflections with the intention of sharing what has personally resonates with me and what I’ve learned through my own study of Scripture. I hope these thoughts are helpful and encouraging, but they are based on my personal perspective rather than formal theological training.
Thank you for your understanding and for joining me in this journey of faith and reflection.

Blessings,
