Whether you celebrate Valentines Day or not, it’s a time of year filled with lots of sweet treats and especially chocolates. As someone currently unable to have dairy, I can enjoy this chocolatey treat completely dairy free using a plant-based milk alternative.
Ingredients
(All clean, non‑toxic, and dairy‑optional)
- ½ cup strong brewed coffee or espresso (chilled if preferred iced)
- 1–2 tablespoons clean-label or homemade chocolate syrup
- 2 tablespoons natural cherry syrup or cherry juice (I recommend the cherry juice!)
- ½ cup milk or plant-based alternative
- Ice cubes (optional, for an iced version)
Directions
- In your mug or glass, mix together chocolate and cherry until fully combined.
- Add the coffee and stir.
- For hot coffee, heat your milk (steamed or warmed), then pour it over the mixture. For iced coffee, chill or pour over ice if you prefer it cold.
- Stir gently to combine and enjoy!
Why It’s Crunchy‑Approved
- Made with whole, recognizable ingredients—no artificial syrups or flavorings
- Naturally flavored with chocolate and cherry, offering richness without the unnecessary additives
- Cherry juice is rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds that can help reduce muscle soreness, support recovery after exercise, and improve sleep quality due to its natural melatonin content.
- Mindful and intentional, with choices that prioritize real food flavor and simplicity
