Read: Genesis 28-31
God desires to bless His people.
“May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and increase your numbers until you become a community of peoples.” -Genesis 28:3
Throughout these chapters, we are reminded that God sees, provides, and remains faithful. He sees our struggles and hears our laments.
In this season, many of my struggles come from motherhood. It is such a beautiful gift, and I truly love it, but it comes with challenges. I’ve been intentional about modeling faith for my children: praying openly, attending church and Bible studies, and spending time in the Word.
The other day, my son kept asking to take my phone to take pictures. When I looked back at them, I saw photo after photo of me reading my Bible; on the living room floor highlighting verses, at the kitchen table studying, and even sitting on the toilet reading. Because what mom of littles gets privacy? Not me!
I love seeing the world from his point of view through those photos. But what I love even more is that, in most of them, I’m reading my Bible or caring for my children. Even in the overwhelm and busyness of motherhood, there is space for the Lord.
When life feels chaotic, make time for Him. No matter how long or short the moment, it matters. God never leaves our side. As we remain faithful to Him, He remains faithful to us.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” -Deuteronomy 31:6
Genesis 31 also reminds us to let God be the judge. That can be difficult when we feel the pull to judge, to hold a grudge, or to defend ourselves.
“May the God of Abraham … judge between us.” -Genesis 31:53
We do not have to carry what belongs to God. He sees. He knows. He will handle what we cannot.
Discussion Questions
- Is there a situation where you are, or were, tempted to judge or hold a grudge instead of letting God handle it? What would it look like to give that to Him instead of holding onto it yourself?
- If someone were quietly observing your life, like a child taking photos, what patterns of faith might they notice?

A Note from the Author
Hello everyone,
I wanted to take a moment to share a bit about the Bible verse studies, devotionals, and prayers that I put together. While I strive to offer meaningful insights and reflections, it’s important to clarify that I am not a trained or licensed biblical professional. My goal is not to provide expert theological advice but to share my personal knowledge, beliefs, and experiences as I read and reflect on the Holy Bible.
The insights I offer come from my own understanding and spiritual journey. I approach these reflections with the intention of sharing what personally resonates with me, what I’ve learned through my own study of Scripture, and what the Holy Spirit is sharing through me. I hope these thoughts are helpful and encouraging, but they are based on my personal perspective rather than formal theological training.
This specific Bible study is based off the book A Beautiful Year in the Bible The 52-Week Bible Study for Women by a series of wonderful authors Copyrighted by Alabaster Creative Inc. I do not own the rights to this book and am not claiming to. I am using the book to create my own version of the Bible in 365 days and continue to direct God’s word towards women, more specifically mothers.
Thank you for your understanding and for joining me in this journey of faith and reflection.
Blessings,
Maria Wilcoxon
