Read: Psalms 27-29
These psalms are written by David. Some great imagery is happening here, especially in Psalm 29. This imagery is very powerful, and even though today we cannot see God with our eyes, we can use this imagery to picture His strength, might, power, and voice.
As we read, we know that singing praises and music bring joy to the Lord. I love to sing in church, at home, and in the car. I enjoy many different artists, but my top favorites right now are Josiah Queen and Forrest Frank. I recommend giving them a listen if you haven’t already. My husband, however, does not enjoy singing because he doesn’t think he has a good voice, which I personally disagree with; but he especially doesn’t enjoy singing in church. I think regardless of what your voice sounds like to human ears, you can bring praise to the Lord with it!
“… I will sing and make music to the Lord.” –Psalm 27:6
“… My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him.” –Psalm 28:7
We can have confidence that the Lord will rule over us forever and love us forever. The goal is to spend eternity with Him in Heaven. He gives us the strength to get through this world and the lives that, even though He has laid out for us, we sin and stray from. But we must find courage in Him to keep going, a hope in a forever, and bravery in heart and mind.
“The Lord is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid?” –Psalm 27:1
“… my heart will not fear … I will be confident.” –Psalm 27:3
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” –Psalm 27:14
“… you are my rock …” –Psalm 28:1
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me …” -Psalm 28:7
The Lord reigns forever. We can trust in His promise because He has already showed us His goodness and glory throughout Scripture. He does so for me personally in my life and in the lives of those around me. We are still experiencing miracles here in the world today that point to nothing but the goodness of God!
“… the Lord is enthroned as King forever.” –Psalm 29:10
“The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.”
–Psalm 29:11

- What fears do you struggle with today, and how can trusting God help you face them?
- Why do you think singing and music are such powerful ways to worship God?

A Note from the Author
Hello everyone,
I wanted to take a moment to share a bit about the Bible verse studies, devotionals, and prayers that I put together. While I strive to offer meaningful insights and reflections, it’s important to clarify that I am not a trained or licensed biblical professional. My goal is not to provide expert theological advice but to share my personal knowledge, beliefs, and experiences as I read and reflect on the Holy Bible.
The insights I offer come from my own understanding and spiritual journey. I approach these reflections with the intention of sharing what personally resonates with me, what I’ve learned through my own study of Scripture, and what the Holy Spirit is sharing through me. I hope these thoughts are helpful and encouraging, but they are based on my personal perspective rather than formal theological training.
This specific Bible study is based off the book A Beautiful Year in the Bible The 52-Week Bible Study for Women by a series of wonderful authors Copyrighted by Alabaster Creative Inc. I do not own the rights to this book and am not claiming to. I am using the book to create my own version of the Bible in 365 days and continue to direct God’s word towards women, more specifically mothers.
Thank you for your understanding and for joining me in this journey of faith and reflection.
Blessings,
Maria Wilcoxon
