Read: Isaiah 62-66
In today’s reading we finish the book of Isaiah. Yay! Haha, it’s just not been my favorite, and that’s okay. It’s still important to read because God has given us the Bible as a tool to learn from and grow closer to Him. For context, the book of Isaiah was written about 700 years before the coming of Jesus. God already had everything planned.
Sometimes when people talk about Christ’s return taking too long, I think about things like this, 700 years. And even more when you consider everything that happened before Isaiah. Since Genesis, it had already been thousands of years, and then still about 700 more before Christ was even born. God has always been working, always been planning. He’s playing the long game for sure.
This week’s reading offers both hope for the future and a picture of what that future might look like. God has had a vision for the world since the beginning of time. In these chapters, He speaks of the new heavens and the new earth, a prophecy of hope.
What would that ideal world look like to you? A place where every need is met before we even know we need it. How amazing! Remember, we are never alone or without God. He loves us, cares for us, gives us hope for the future, and strength to get through today so that we may be with Him in heaven one day. Try to live in a way that reflects God and His love for us. Also, strive to make heaven crowded so that one day we may all experience it together.
In Isaiah 62, it talks about Zion’s new name. God will call us “Hephzibah,” which means “my delight is in her,” and “Beulah,” which means “married.” Remember that we are the bride and Christ is the groom. That is the covenant we have with Him who loves us. It is also so beautiful that God delights in us.
“… you will be called Sought After …” -Isaiah 62:12
God loves us, and He chooses us. He chases after us like a shepherd going after a lost sheep. He seeks us out to find us and know us so that we may know Him and be known by Him. He loves us like a parent loves a child. He created each of us for a purpose. YOU MATTER!
“Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.” –Isaiah 64:8

A Note from the Author
Hello everyone,
I wanted to take a moment to share a bit about the Bible verse studies, devotionals, and prayers that I put together. While I strive to offer meaningful insights and reflections, it’s important to clarify that I am not a trained or licensed biblical professional. My goal is not to provide expert theological advice but to share my personal knowledge, beliefs, and experiences as I read and reflect on the Holy Bible.
The insights I offer come from my own understanding and spiritual journey. I approach these reflections with the intention of sharing what personally resonates with me, what I’ve learned through my own study of Scripture, and what the Holy Spirit is sharing through me. I hope these thoughts are helpful and encouraging, but they are based on my personal perspective rather than formal theological training.
This specific Bible study is based off the book A Beautiful Year in the Bible The 52-Week Bible Study for Women by a series of wonderful authors Copyrighted by Alabaster Creative Inc. I do not own the rights to this book and am not claiming to. I am using the book to create my own version of the Bible in 365 days and continue to direct God’s word towards women, more specifically mothers.
Thank you for your understanding and for joining me in this journey of faith and reflection.
Blessings,
Maria Wilcoxon
