Read: Exodus 25-28
Today’s reading is Exodus 25–28. In these chapters we saw God giving Moses very detailed instructions for the tabernacle, the ark, the table, the lampstand, priestly garments, the breast piece, offerings, the ephod, the courtyard, and so much more. Honestly, this reading can start to feel a little monotonous because there are so many tiny details and measurements and materials being listed over and over again. There are precious stones, gold, silver, fabrics, exact dimensions, and specific instructions for how everything was to be made.
As I was reading all these little details, I kept thinking about how much thought and intentionality God put into every single part of this process. If God cared this much about the details of the tabernacle and these sacred items, imagine how much care, thought, and purpose He put into creating each one of us. Nothing about us is accidental. God is intentional!
I also could not stop thinking about Moses trying to remember and write all of this down because honestly I would have been stressed trying to keep track of every tiny direction and measurement. The ark alone had specific dimensions, materials, rings, poles, coverings, and ornamental details.
“Have them make an ark of acacia wood—two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high.” -Exodus 25:10
I do not necessarily think the point was just that God wanted fancy decorations or specific measurements. I think a huge part of this was obedience. God gave instructions, and His people were called to follow them faithfully, even in the small details. Sometimes obedience to God is not always about fully understanding why He asks something of us, but trusting Him enough to follow and obey anyway.
This also made me think about motherhood. As moms, there are so many tiny details that we manage every single day that can feel repetitive or unnoticed. Meals, laundry, bedtime routines, cleaning, comforting crying babies, teaching, correcting, organizing, reminding, and caring for our homes can sometimes feel monotonous too. But small details matter. The little things done faithfully and lovingly over time build something meaningful. God is a God of detail, order, intentionality, and purpose, and I think we reflect a little bit of that in the ways in which we lovingly care for the people and responsibilities He has entrusted to us and created us for.

A Note from the Author
Hello everyone,
I wanted to take a moment to share a bit about the Bible verse studies, devotionals, and prayers that I put together. While I strive to offer meaningful insights and reflections, it’s important to clarify that I am not a trained or licensed biblical professional. My goal is not to provide expert theological advice but to share my personal knowledge, beliefs, and experiences as I read and reflect on the Holy Bible.
The insights I offer come from my own understanding and spiritual journey. I approach these reflections with the intention of sharing what personally resonates with me, what I’ve learned through my own study of Scripture, and what the Holy Spirit is sharing through me. I hope these thoughts are helpful and encouraging, but they are based on my personal perspective rather than formal theological training.
This specific Bible study is based off the book A Beautiful Year in the Bible The 52-Week Bible Study for Women by a series of wonderful authors Copyrighted by Alabaster Creative Inc. I do not own the rights to this book and am not claiming to. I am using the book to create my own version of the Bible in 365 days and continue to direct God’s word towards women, more specifically mothers.
Thank you for your understanding and for joining me in this journey of faith and reflection.
Blessings,
Maria Wilcoxon
