I absolutely love getting to share small businesses that are rooted in faith, motherhood, and following where God leads. Oakley’s Bright Idea is one of those businesses that immediately stood out to me because the heart behind it feels so genuine and intentional.
This sweet children’s book was created by a mama who simply wanted to point children toward Jesus and remind them where their true light comes from. In a world constantly trying to tell our kids who they should be, I love seeing moms use their gifts to speak truth and life into the next generation.
How Oakley’s Bright Idea Began
Oakley’s Bright Idea began after Bailey became a mom and felt the Lord putting something on her heart. She wanted to create a story that gently points children toward the truth that real joy, purpose, and identity come from Jesus, not from the things this world offers. What started as a simple idea at home slowly turned into a faith-based children’s book centered around identity in Christ and helping little hearts understand where their light truly comes from.
As a mom, I honestly love the intention behind that so much because the world is loud right now. Our kids are constantly being pulled in every direction and fed messages that do not align with God’s truth. Seeing a mama intentionally create something that points children back to Jesus is just really beautiful to me.
The Meaning Behind the Name
The book is named after Bailey’s daughter, Oakley, which makes it feel even more personal and special. As her mom, Bailey shared that she prays Oakley always knows her “light” comes from accepting Jesus into her heart and walking with Him.
I also love the meaning behind the title Bright Idea because it reflects both a child’s curiosity and that understanding that our true light comes from Christ, not worldly things. Such a simple but powerful message for little ones.

Faith at the Center
Faith is completely woven into every part of this business, which I always appreciate so much. Bailey shared that Oakley’s Bright Idea exists to glorify the Lord by planting seeds of truth into young hearts and encouraging families to center their lives on Christ.
I especially love that the message is shared in a gentle and age-appropriate way. Sometimes the most meaningful conversations about Jesus happen during the smallest moments, like reading together before bed or cuddling on the couch with our kids. Books like this can open the door for those conversations naturally.
