Read: Exodus 29-32
Today’s reading is Exodus 29-32. Honestly, I did not enjoy reading Exodus 29 and kept thinking “ew” the entire time, but it still serves a purpose, and I think that is important to remember when reading the Bible. Not every chapter is going to feel encouraging or easy to read, but every chapter matters because God put it there for a reason.
Exodus 29 outlines God’s instructions to Moses for ordaining Aaron and his sons as priests. We see consecration throughout this chapter, people being set apart for a holy purpose through sacrifice, washing, anointing, and obedience to God.
We also continue seeing how serious sin is and that sin bears consequences. We especially see that later with the golden calf and the Israelites turning away so quickly after everything God had already done for them.
As we continue reading today, we come to the Sabbath. I really think that is such an important reminder. If you are not doing something throughout your week to intentionally invite God into your rest, time with your husband, time with your children and more, I encourage you to start trying. Rest is not laziness. Setting aside time for God and your loved ones is not selfish. I am saying that for myself as well. God designed us for the sabbath, not the other way around; I think sometimes we forget that.
There were not specific verses that deeply stood out to me today, and honestly, that is okay too. Sometimes Scripture plants seeds quietly. Maybe the next time I read these chapters something different will speak to me.
Discussion Questions
- Why do you think God cared so much about consecration and purity for the priests?
- What are some ways that you can intentionally invite God into your week?
- Why do you think the Israelites so quickly turned away from God after everything that He had done for them?

A Note from the Author
Hello everyone,
I wanted to take a moment to share a bit about the Bible verse studies, devotionals, and prayers that I put together. While I strive to offer meaningful insights and reflections, it’s important to clarify that I am not a trained or licensed biblical professional. My goal is not to provide expert theological advice but to share my personal knowledge, beliefs, and experiences as I read and reflect on the Holy Bible.
The insights I offer come from my own understanding and spiritual journey. I approach these reflections with the intention of sharing what personally resonates with me, what I’ve learned through my own study of Scripture, and what the Holy Spirit is sharing through me. I hope these thoughts are helpful and encouraging, but they are based on my personal perspective rather than formal theological training.
This specific Bible study is based off the book A Beautiful Year in the Bible The 52-Week Bible Study for Women by a series of wonderful authors Copyrighted by Alabaster Creative Inc. I do not own the rights to this book and am not claiming to. I am using the book to create my own version of the Bible in 365 days and continue to direct God’s word towards women, more specifically mothers.
Thank you for your understanding and for joining me in this journey of faith and reflection.
Blessings,
Maria Wilcoxon
